Through my job as a Cashier, I have been able to bond with so many customers gaining genuine connections. Through these connections, I've been able to establish interpersonal connections where I share a part of myself to my customers; I have received so much support in this and this is such a powerful thing.

Before getting into the Engage North internship program, I had the wonderful opportunity of working on a project with the GNWT and the Sahtu Planning Board where I got to travel up North and really experience it's beauty. I was also teamed up with two past Engage North interns, Libby and Yashi, as well as a Human Geography Master's student, Madeleine.

Yesterday, I found out that I will be the next Lands and Consultation Intern in Beaver First Nation this Summer through the Engage North program at the U of A! I am super excited and nervous at the same time! I will be living on reserve for about four months. Indigenous community planning is probably one of my greatest passions.
